Packet Design Signs Alunan Persada as Reseller in Malaysia
PALO ALTO , Calif., March 25, 2008 – PALO ALTO , Calif., Mar. 25, 2008 – Packet Design, a pioneer in route analytics technology for managing large IP networks, has signed Alunan Persada Sdn Bhd to resell its products in Malaysia.
Headquartered in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, Alunan Persada specializes in network and security infrastructure solutions for telecommunications service providers, and is a reseller for such leading firms as Juniper Networks, Alcatel-Lucent, TippingPoint Technologies and CA. Alunan Persada will provide sales coverage and technical support throughout Malaysia for Packet Design's network management products, including Route Explorer, Traffic Explorer, VPN Explorer and the recently announced VPN Traffic Explorer.
Steve Ackley, Packet Design vice president of worldwide sales, said, "The Malaysian market is a key part of Packet Design's overall strategy of growth and expansion in southeast Asia. This market is ripe with ' greenfield' opportunities in service provider organizations that require a much greater level of visibility into their IP networks as those networks grow larger and more complex. Alunan Persada is a strong regional player in the network management space, and a natural fit for our products."
Zainal Mohd Noor, chief executive officer at Alunan Persada, said, "Our service provider customers are offering an increasingly broad range of next-generation media technologies, such as IPTV, that are putting greater demands on their infrastructures. Packet Design products are invaluable in helping them ensure the highest possible quality-of-service levels by showing how their networks are functioning in real time and letting them understand trends in user traffic over extended periods."

TMNet Enhances Service and Security with 3Com Networking Solutions Implemented by Alunan Persada
As Malaysia’s premier internet service provider (ISP), TMNet Sdn. Bhd. must provide a high level of service availability and uptime to its corporate customers. Its nine data centers throughout Malaysia support a Disaster Recovery Center(DRCC) and offer premium business services, including server co-location, hosting and managed services. In addition, the company supports Telekom Malaysia’s New Generation Network (NGN) and broadband initiative being designed to provide services that include IPTV, a data center and portal. Like other ISPs around the world, TMNet has experienced incursions and distributed denial of service (DDOS) attacks that gobble up expensive bandwidth resources. Managing these security, service and performance challenges with an ageing seven-year old network was taking its toll on service quality and cost. After a review of new infrastructure options, TMNet chose a 3Com switching and security solution implemented by Alunan Persada Sdn. Bhd., a 3Com partner. Now it enjoys a new network that features a robust core and highly flexible distribution layer, as well as state-of-the-art 3Com TippingPoint intrusion
prevention technology.
